Mother’s Day, or Mothering Sunday, is fast approaching (March in the UK, May or June in America and around the world) when our thoughts turn to expressing gratitude to the wonderful women who we call Mum, even if it wasn’t them who brought us into the world.

This is a quick post offering an idea for a Mother’s Day gift with a difference. It’s an anthology, celebrating all aspects of Motherhood and what it means to become and be a Mother. And I have two poems in it!

In 2012 I ‘officially’ became a writer when two of my poems were selected to be published in this unique collection.

Musings on Mothering

The book, Musings on Mothering: About Pregnancy, Birth and Breastfeeding is a joyous anthology of art, poetry and prose, edited and independently published by Teika Bellamy.

One of the poems is dedicated to my amazing wild wonder Caroline, then 2 years old. It is a fitting tribute to her warrior spirit as she fought an incredible battle with stage four cancer in 2017 and is currently and incredibly 8 years in remission!!

La Leche League breastfeeding charity

All royalties from the sale of the book go to La Leche League, a charity which provides breastfeeding support through pregnancy and onwards and guidance for those who are unable to breast feed for whatever reason.

It’s a charity very dear to me as I was a sustained breast feeder until Caroline was over 4 years old, a fact that I believe contributed in part to her cancer survival.

Gifts for Mums

Musings on Mothering is a great choice for a Mother’s Day present, particularly for new Mums. But don’t take my word for it, check out the review over on natural parenting blog, Green Mums

And of course, Wild wishes to all you marvellous Mums out there, for a very happy Mother’s Day!
