How cool is this unisex long sleeved children’s top with it’s awesome outdoorsy tipi pattern? Perfect for outdoor family adventures and kids outdoor activities of all kinds.
Plus it’s a subtle hot pink – warm pink maybe, though Reima call it Pale Rose – and comes in other great colours (yellow, black, berry, pink, blue, soft blue and navy) each with a different pattern design.
I was sent this kids’ Tiptoe top for Caroline, who’s 8, to review. We love everything about it and she’s worn it for months.
Soft, Comfortable & Great Fabric Pattern
Caroline immediately loved the cotton-based jersey fabric because its’s one of the most soft and comfortable she owns.
Post-cancer she has sensitive skin and doesn’t like a high neckline due to the haematoma where her central line was, but the fabric is so soft the neckline doesn’t matter with this top, a real plus for her.
She loves the outdoor tipi pattern and it’s her go-to top for everything as it’s a mid-layer weight.
Multi-Activity Top
It’s great for: –
- sport
- comfy wear at home
- popping over a T-shirt on a cooler day
- warming up at the beach over a swimsuit
- to play in
- picnics in the garden!
Play-friendly Design
The Tiptoe top also has a cleverly considered longer hem at the back, great when sitting down.
The strong, flexible fabric makes it perfect for active kids (tree climbing can be frustrating in tight or immobile fabric!)
As a Mum I’d also say it doesn’t really need ironing once it’s been hung to dry. It does state re-shape whilst damp but I’ve not found the need so far.
Buy A Size Larger
I’d recommend buying a size larger than usual as it comes in a little small (Reima agree with this). Caroline is a tall, slim, 132cm-aged 8 and wears a size 140cm which fits perfectly.
It will last a year or so at the larger size, a bonus for any thrifty wild Mum!
UV Protective
Lots of Reima clothing includes UV protection and the Tiptoe Top screens out UV up to factor 40+, brilliant for outdoor kids in these sun-wary times.

Pros
- Cool outdoor fabric pattern
- Soft and comfortable to wear
- Unisex
- Designed for activity and play
- Lightweight
- Warm
- UV protection to factor 40+
- Breathable
- 61% cotton, 33% polyester, 6% elastane
- Quick drying after wash and also moisture wicking against skin
- Easy to wash at 40 degrees and hasn’t lost colour
- Choice of colours and patterns
Cons
There are none whatsoever after 4 months of regular wear!
At £25 it could be deemed expensive for a top but it will definitely last a couple of years. That’s £12 per year and with the amount of wear Caroline’s already had from hers it will work out at pretty good value.
About Reima
Reima is a Scandinavian company designing clothes for active kids aged 0 to 12 years.
Founded in 1944 they design clothes to endure as well as help protect children and the environment e.g. their kids water bottle is made of BPA-free recycled plastic that biodegrades within 5 years of going to landfill. Lots of eco-Brownie points here.
I love their child-centred ethos which they decribe as being “for an active childhood that matters. For discovering that joy of movement that will stick for the rest of life. For every day, every weather, every experience, wherever adventure awaits. Reima is dedicated to all the kids in the world, inspired by them and by that pure joy of movement.”
I’ll buy into that!
Why not try the ReimaGo kids activity sensor too, to inspire your wild kids to get active inside and outdoors? Read more in my review.
NB Kids of the Wild received a Reima Tiptoe Kids Top for the purposes of this review. All views and observations are my own (and Caroline’s, aged 8).

It looks a great top and I love the pattern and colour. A great idea for it to have uv protection for outdoor kids.
I agree, especially this year in the current heatwave
Off to investigate as I love Scandi clothes for kids and hate the UK idea that boys over 5 should live in black and grey! #Countrykids
I agree, we love colour for boys AND girls. I had put an anti anti-pink rant in here but deleted it! One for another post maybe as we wear lots of pink as well as all other colours. I really like the Reima ethos and great current sale. Wish I got a commission!! Happy shopping!
Wow, what a lovely top! I love the design and that it has UV protection. I’m a big fan of Scandi children’s clothes 🙂 #CountryKids
We love the tipi design too. It’s a great all-round outdoor top
This looks like great outdoor wear to me. Love the bright colour and the in built uv protection #CountryKids
It’s a really lovely top. Apologies for the late reply, Cub camp took over..!
